I never planned on teaching medicine, but here we are.
What started as a way to help myself study turned into something much bigger.
Hey, I’m Taim! I’ve always been curious about how things work, especially in biology. That’s what led me to study a bachelor’s in Biomedical Science, where I got really interested in how things work in the lab. After graduating, I started medical school in 2017 and earned my medical degree in 2023.
During my studies, I built an interest in neurology, which led me to work in the field during, and after graduating. Outside of medicine, I’ve always liked working on little side projects, just because I find it fun. Whether it was drawing, making animations, or just figuring out better ways to understand things. At some point, that turned into a YouTube channel, and what started as a way to help myself study slowly grew into something much bigger.
Back in med school, I actually struggled a lot with learning from pure text. I realized pretty early on that I needed visuals to truly understand things, so I started drawing my own diagrams (just simple sketches to help myself study). At some point, I figured, why not put them into PowerPoint and record myself explaining them? Not for anyone else, just so I could rewatch them before exams. And since I needed a place to store the recordings, I uploaded them to YouTube. I mean, no one was going to see them anyway… or so I thought.
Then something unexpected happened. Other students started finding them helpful too. I wasn’t making money from YouTube, and making videos took hours of my time. My English wasn’t perfect, I had no editing skills, and I had no idea how to make a “good” video. But I enjoyed the process, and knowing that my videos were actually helping people kept me motivated.
By the time I graduated, I had spent years making videos next to my studies. After graduating, I was thinking of stopping YouTube since it was time-consuming. I figured it’d be better to just focus on my medical career and start my specialization journey. But in a short span of time, a lot happened, and I actually became burned out which forced me to take a step back. And for the first time, I asked myself… what if I took a break from medicine and actually tried growing this platform into something more?
And now, here we are.
After realizing I wanted to grow this platform, I got to work immediately. I started making visual PDF notes, quizzes, and built this website to bring everything together. My goal was simple: to organize everything into a structured system and create handcrafted visual PDFs to make studying easier.
Now that I’ve turned my YouTube videos into PDF notes and quizzes and categorized them here, the next step is to finish anatomy, covering bones, lymphatics, and special senses. After that, I’ll move on to internal medicine, visualizing international guidelines in a way that makes it easier to understand diseases, their diagnosis, and treatment.
I want to take everything I’ve learned, both from studying medicine and from years of making videos, and turn it into something bigger, something that makes learning easier and more engaging for everyone.
I don’t know exactly where this journey will take me, but I do know one thing – I’m not done yet.
This platform wouldn’t be what it is without the people helping behind the scenes. So much work has gone into making everything come together. I’ve had an editor for short-form videos on Instagram, a brilliant scriptwriter who helped with the short film, and a fantastic filmmaker who brought it all to life. A web designer made this site possible, and a marketing expert helped plan the launch.
None of this would’ve been possible alone.
Big thanks to everyone who’s been part of this journey!
Excited to keep building and growing this platform even further!
